Marathon Digital produces 21% more bitcoins in March

Marathon Digital ( NASDAQ: MARA ) said Monday it mined a record 825 bitcoins ( BTC-USD ) in March, up from the 683 produced in February. During the month, approximately 13K of Marathon's ( MARA ) previously installed S19 XP miners were energized at Applied Digital’s facilities in North Dakota. The company's operating fleet consisted of around 105.2K as of April 1, which in theory is capable of producing ~11.5 exahashes per second, it said, citing the manufacturer's specifications. 23 EH/s of mining capacity is still expected to be achieved in the middle of 2023. Marathon ( MARA ) sold 750 BTC in March and plans to sell a portion of its BTC holdings in future periods to support monthly operations, manage its treasury, or for general corporate purposes, it said. Overall, the miner held a total of 11,466 BTC and ended the month with $124.9M in unrestricted cash and cash equivalents on its balance sheet. On Friday, Marathon ( MARA ) said CFO Hugh Gallagher will retire on May 12.
